There’s many reasons why I love about being a school counselor, but I’d like to discuss my favorite two. 1) Watching Students Grow…being a school counselor affords me the wonderful opportunity to interact with whatever developmental stage a student is at in any given time. Sharing in that growth is fun and rewarding. 2) Offering Support…being available for students and their families is very rewarding. For many, the unconditional positive regard that counselors show on a consistent basis means that schools can be one of the safest and most supportive place in a one’s life.
